I'm a bit concerned. I'm a woman and I've just found a rather long, dark, fine but course hair coming out of the area around my nipple. Is this normal?

yes it can be quite normal...consider yourself lucky it's only one! Just pluck it out!
Ouch! x
Perfectly normal.

And just you wait, in a few years time you'll have more of them and in other areas that shouldn't have hair!!

I'm 35 and for the first time EVER I'm waxing my top lip. It's very fine, blonde, downy hair but suddenly much more noticable than before. Ohhhh... to be 21 and svelte and hairless again....
Yes it's normal and rather irritating. If it worsens, you can try electrolosis or laser hair removal. I have loads, it's rather embarrassing.
No need to worry yellowduck, the time to start is when it becomes a daily plucking session.
I am 24 and have noticed a few hairs around my nipples for the last couple of years. I pluck them out once a month or so. Or before a bit of romance ;o) It is a total pain. And as a dark brunette its quite obvious. I also bleach my upper lip, after unsuccessful electroylsis at 13...which is uncomfortable. Don't worry..it's very natural!
