sony mp3

Ive just bought a sony mp3 player and the only way it tells you to recharge it is connected to the lap top via the usb port!
Is there any other way of charging it without causing it damage?

Most mp3s with litium batteries work this way. The Sonys have excellent power management and you will find it won't need to be charged too often.
Had an E407 for some years now and apart from the chronic sonic stage software battery life is excellent. Took it on holiday for two weeks and lasted the whole time 2hrs use per day.
