I have recently bought a SONY MP3 player and the latest version of The War of the Worlds CD (Made by SONY BMG) Trouble is, when I try to import the CD, SONY's Sonicstage programme for the MPS player doesn't recognise it ~ it says there is "no audio track" Can aynone please tell me why this might be and how I can get round it?

Thanks

The CD file, (CDA) needs converting to MP3. The instructions for MP3 players don't tell you this you need something like media monkey, your player may well come with the conversion software. see here for media monkey: http://www.mediamonkey.com/

Note that MP3 files also take up much less space so you get more on your player. You probably did copy the CDA file but the player wont recognise it so delete it (windows explorere should work if it's the USB type)

not familiar with that particular disc, but it could be Sony are employing some copy protection scheme on it, to make it unreadable on computers.
What I do if there's copy protection on a CD is to rip it first to MP3 using an MP3 ripper. Personally I use ImToo MP3 Ripper and with this, the copy protection shows up as a Data track at the end. I rip everything else to the hard disk and then import the MP3s to SonicStage.

Having said this, I also ripped the War of the Worlds CDs directly to ATRAC within SonicStage with no problems, but I did buy it years ago. Maybe the new ones have copy protection.
