This is not a question, but I wanted to tell all the dog lovers anyway.
I got a 14 month Lab/Collie cross three weeks ago from the dog pound, where she had been for over two months.
She is always walked on a lead, and can be quite boisterous at times, but today I met some dogs and their owners on the beach and let her off the lead for the first time (except in an large enclosed garden). She had a fantastic time, playing, digging, chasing, in and out of the water (and yes, we always lift the poo). She has been socialised with dogs and people, but I had my heart in my mouth in case she decided to leg it. She ran and ran, but galloped back to me every time I called!
Thanks to Alfie, Bruce, and Melly, the other dogs who played with her, and to their owners, who were strangers until today.

What a lovely story annemollie , your dog sounds wonderful :-) xxx
I had a lovely mental picture of you and your dog on the beach, must be nice to live near a beach. My nearest is about 50 miles away.

annemollie, all these 'pete the pup' poems are good, but I'm sure you'll like 'pete at the seashore' best !! Click on the title :)

annemollie, your girl sounds lovely, and she must have already formed a strong bond with you to come back so readily! It is nice to give them that freedom. I worry a little every time I let Jack off the lead, although I have no reason to! He is a VGB (Very Good Boy!).

I hope you both get to meet Alfie, Bruce and Melly and their humans again soon. She will love having doggy friends :)

She sounds so special, give her a cuddle from me, and a big lick from Jack, our Collie. x
fred, I had never heard of those poems 'til now...thank you!

Sweet!!! K xx
