i had just got into bed when it happened, it was really strange, just felt like someone was really shaking my bed. the windows and doors were rattling really loud too.
I slept through both too hippy hoppy. Only heard about the quake when read the front of the sun this morning and a 19 year old lad and 17 year old female were bragging that they were in bed and thought it was to do with them. Bet their parents are proud!! lol.

Newsdesk - sweetness - I don't know cos I was asleep!!!
I read on the BBC website that it happened and lots of people felt it in various places from the north, south, east and west! Anyway, we didn't, we were awake at the time it apparently happened and we're in the west of GB.

Hi hippyhoppy. Yes - we felt the tremors for maybe 10 seconds or so. It started with a rumbling which quickly got louder, and then everything started to shake. Things fell off my computer desk and the machine itself wobbled like a jelly. When the floor moved, I leapt up quickly, in case everything collapsed into the cellars. NOT a pleasant feeling! Afterwards, it was eerie outside. Animals & birds's fallen silent - something which, even though we may not be aware of in the normal way, made for a very strange quietness.

Never mind Hippy!!

I like you, slept through both, only waking up after the storm was worst.

I wondered what had happened when I got downstairs and looked out the kitchen window.

The garden was gone!!!

Sorry - I put 97 - meant '87 and yes, funnygirl I woke up and there was a shed in our front garden!! I'd had a hideous migraine the night before which I've been told was down to the weather pressure leading up to the storm...
