Yep - though I think it's usually PEOPLE who live in glass houses etc. It means that you should avoid hypocrisy: in other words, you should not criticize other people for bad qualities in their character that you have yourself.

There was once a very vain king. He ordered a palace to be built entirely of glass, so that everyone could see him in all his glory. And a new throne to go with it. "Your majesty, what shall we do with the old throne?" a courtier asked. "Oh, I don't know - take it upstairs," the king answered dismissively. Presently, all the people of the land gathered outside and looked in. The king was pleased. Then came an almighty crash, and the king was no more. As the courtier was later heard to murmur, "Those who live in glass houses shouldn't store thrones."
