Sorry but he's mince. When was the last time you seen him able to read an autocue without messing up? He was past his prime years ago, God knows why the BBC use him still.
I don't agree - He's boring, past it and I can't understand what people see in him - particularly women...............
Same old gags - same old mannerisms - same stupid Nice to see you............ Where's my channel changer?
If the comedians now a days make peop;e laugh as much as bruicie did they would be entertaining. They are just a load of rubbish .At least Bruicie was entertaining and still is.How many TV entertainers are still around on tv at his age .No you can't name many as they are all full up of booze and drugs .
Ken Dodd springs immediately to mind, surely one of the best `old timers` ever. If he hadn`t been a tax dodger in the past he would probably be knighted by now. I still like old Brucie though as he is Mr Showbusiness and I think he deserves a knighthood. His wife is rather nice too.
So what was he, a vaudaville hoofer who transfered to television as a quiz/gameshow compare and that's all he'll ever be. An entertainer?, I think not.
I think Wendilla got it right with her answer, written in the past tense, WAS.
Brucie is a genius, but then so are a lot of the older comediens - Tom O'connor, Ronnie Corbett, Kenny Lynch still make me laugh out load!

How many new generation stars can say that!! I can only think of Ben Miller at the moment who is brilliant in moving wallpaper.
Brucie may not make me roar with laughter - never has done - but someone who has put as much as he has, for as long as he has, into entertaining the masses must be worthy of admiration. A solid staple of clean, honest light entertainment for well over 50 years, and (crucially) he seems to have the ability and willingness to take the mickey out of himself - always worth a few brownie points in my book.

I wonder if Graham Norton or Dermot O'Leary will still be going strong in 50 years (ye Gods, I do hope not - mind you, I'll be nearly 90 by then, so will probably be either dead or too busy dribbling down my cardigan to care).
He`s been an all round entertainer for longer than most of us have lived. Like him or hate him you`ve got to admire this.
nah brucies ok the mans got character another one that spings to mind is Bob Monkhouse he was a really funny man when you used to see him in interviews etc
OK so he's showing his age now - but he is 80.. He has been an entertainer for as long as I can remember. He is not a favourite of mine, but he was a great singer and dancer and a fabulous piano player as well as being a good comedian and compere. His long session as compere for 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium' will be remember by other oldies like me.

He was a true entertainer and still does very well. Good luck to him. I hope he continues to carry on working for a long time yet. We don't seem to have any 'all round' entertainers these days. In fact I can't think of anyone off hand, but I stand to be corrected.
Having seen some of the 'The Brits' on TV last night, I must admit I would rather see Brucie any day.
I agree with littleoldme. He may not be very funny but he has got more stamina than some of the younger entertainers and I hope he continues.
Brucie behaves with dignity, unlike some of those on the brits, some of the younger element just do not know how to conduct themselves.
