We had a jacuzzi/spa bath installed in our bathroom last year and wonder what is the best way to clean out the tubes for the jets?  We have a lot of small black bits of grime spraying out of them at the moment, can anyone recommend some sort of solution to use to clear this?

I have no first hand experience but I've heard that you have to run sterilising fluid (Like Milton - used for babies' bottles and the like) through them from time to time.  The "black bits" description reminds me of some stuff that used to chug through I dishwasher with which I was once acquainted.  Maybe a dishwasher cleaner might help you.

Once every couple of weeks I fill the bath with water and add some bleech, then set the bubbles going for ten minutes(this gets rid of any nasties that may be lurking).

I would also recommend a dishwasher tablet.fill bath as before drop in tablet and set it running for a while. Then stop it and leave the water to settle. After half and hour all of the gunk will have settled on the top and you can now sieve it out.(very satisfying!)

Trust me on this.I moved into a house with an existing bath and the previous occupiers didn't know that it needed cleaning EVER!!

Best way is to rip it out and bin it, these things are a health hazard
