How much do you think it would cost to drive 60 miles in a 1 litre Nissan Micra? Just a rough estimate? It's a petrol car, and it costs about 1.05 a litre

depending on type of road and driving style you might get anywhere between 35 and 50 miles per gallon. Rough conversion I would work on 10 miles per litre.
When people refer to 'driving 60 miles', they're usually referring to 'open road' driving, from A to B, rather than 'around town'. If so, several web pages state that you can get 50mpg. So you'll need 1.2 gallons = 5.45 litres which, at 1.05 per litre, costs 5.72.

If I was driving the car and a friend had asked me to drive them on a 60 mile journey, for the cost of the fuel, I'd charge them 6. However, if I was the friend (and had done the calculations), I'd offer 7 or 8 to allow for sections of the journey with lower fuel economy, so as to ensure that the driver didn't make a loss.
