Does anyone believe the predictions of Nostradamus and the King of Terror prophecies?
If i were to make my own prediction based on the quatrains i would say Bush is the King of Terror spoken about and that there is alot our governements dont tell us about war.
There is a theory that war is to keep the USA & UK from over population. From a sociological point, in recent years the survivors of the 2nd world war received decent pensions as now those people are in their 80's 90's or more. but what of the pensioners of this era??? There is not enough in the funds to keep them going in future years so our governments start a war to keep the numbers down in future...does this make sense? do you believe this?

No offence intended, but the Nostradamus thing is ********. His predictions were vague and intended for a 16th Century audience and we can't understand their significance.

The majority of modern books attempt a word-for-word translation which contain basic errors of translation, understanding and interpretation.

From his Century 10, Quatrain 7:

The year 1999, seventh month,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror.
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.


If he was able to see into the future, why not name Mr Bin Laden? Why not say where he came from? Why not describe the Arabic features that would have stood out in the 16th century (big nose, beard, dishdash or kameez)?

- does he literally mean 1999, or does he refer to the powerful belief that the world will end on 2000 - the so-called Second Coming?
- in the 20th Century, did anything of significance happen in July 1999?
- which calendar did he mean when he spoke of the seventh month?
- what did King of Terror mean in the 16th Century?
- in his world, who was Kig=ng of he Mongols?
- in his world who represented Mars and who was regarded as imparting luck?

For a seer, it's a bit of an oversight that he seems to have missed World War One and Verdun, a battle that lasted some 11 months and cost the lives of half-a-million French soldiers.

Maybe he had other things on his mind.

Thing about believing preditions, is that if they come true, your life has been pre-ordained, and what you think is free thought and action, isn't.

I think that there is something in most people which makes us want to believe that someone like Nostradamus could predict events. The fact is events can be interpreted to fit his predictions but that is too scientific and a lot of people would prefer to think otherwise.

the pensions thing actually works the other way round. To pay the pensions of any generation, the next generation needs to be bigger rather than smaller. Old age pensions were originally designed for people who were going to live 5 years after and have 6 kids contributing to the pot. Now everyone lives 20 years after retirement and only has 2 children. Result: shortage of money. If they send our children off to war, who pays my pension, eh??
