23d former unit of currency in Equatorial guinea. All the evidence seems to point to epkwele, but it needs to be ekpwele to keep tulip tree for 26a, another name for yellow poplar and that doesn't run . any ideas?

My Chambers dictionary says:

ekuele or ekpwele
n (pl ekuele or ekpweles) a former unit of currency in Equatorial Guinea.
yellow poplar is also known as the tulip tree
