I have just bought a new computer and wish to have broadband i am just on dial up at the moment, can i just install my new computer or will i lose the internet connection? if so what do i do?

you can install your new pc to use Dial Up for the moment. If and when you have decided which broadband provider you want, they set up you actual line so it becomes broadband ready, and then most will seen you a free router/modem and an installation CD, which will then connect your pc to broadband. You then stop using the dial up connection on your pc.

If you are using dial up one bit of advice, make sure when you are not using it you pull the telephone cord out of the phone socket. This is because internet users could access your computer from anywhere in the world and use your computer to run up a phone bill. I know because it happened to me before I went onto broadband.
