with gasping breath about twelve inches of snow... and it's still coming down. No point phoning a cab: they're all busy so I trudged home....................and it's beautiful with the snow clinging to the trees with the full moon shining and me making first footprints in the virgin snow across the field, and I only fell down once over a snow-ploughed drift about four feet tall:)

OK; Nobody wants to talk to me so I'll put me bearskin on and settle down in the igloo.
Hi Pasta - you agree with me then? I LOVE snow. All I can say is, they're lucky burgers in NY!
Yup!!! always felt like such an adventure to me when I was a kid. Waking up in the morning-'snowed in'-lovely!

I'm in southern Ontario, and the stuff will not quit. This winter we get these ridiculous snow falls and then the next few days the temp. is above freezing and it's gone!!
Tch - presumably leaving everywhere flooded then?

Yes pasta - but can't remember the last decent snowfall. I know a load of it came down sometime during the late 80's, because I played outside in this massive drift - but since then - pathetic!
It is like spring here.....the bulbs are peeping thru....and tortoises are coming out of hibertnation!!

Hi, pasta. I was born in England and used to have pet tortoises as a kid: I liked them and gave them all names. You were born in the States weren't you?
I feel like an outsider now - with having no US connection! Oh - sorry, I do in a way. Have a few relatives in Michigan, and a friend in orange county, but I haven't ever lived there.
Yeh stewey.....Long Island,NY.....how did you get to Canada?
