does anyone know how to forward wind a film on ipod video??

Two ways....

1) Press and hold the >> Fast Forward button.

2) From the Now Playing screen, press the centre button to show the scrubber bar (a diamond icon on the bar shows the current location), and then scroll to any point in the song or video.
