is it possible to extract music from video clips such as youtube & google video. i can save the video clips to my pc but would like to try saving the music clips separately. any tips would be appreciated. Moonraker.

There is a free program - audacity - that records whatever sound is playing on your pc. Good for recording internet radio too.

Seeing as you want to give it a go - it took me a while to figure how to use it. You will see the panel has the usual record, play buttons as you'd expect.

What took me time to work out was the default is 'microphone'. This records whatever sounds the mic picks up, which you don't want.

Change it to 'stereo mixer' (or similar, depending on your pc) and it will record whatever the pc is playing.

Download the 'lame' extension at the same time as you download Audacity, and you can save your recording as mp3

Hi again, thanks for that it was a bit complicated i must admit and what sound i did get back was really terrible so i will try as you suggested and will keep you posted later on today. cheers. Moonraker
