I find it hard to pick a favourite, but I'd probably go for 'Mr Tambourine Man', as I saw Dylan at the De Montfort Hall, Leicester in 1964. He sang 'Mr Tambourine Man' with just guitar and harmonica. It was the first time most of the audience had heard it and when he finished there was silence for what seemed like an age before the applause started. It still gives me shivers remembering it.
Knocking on Heavens Door and A Hard Rains Gonna Fall in that order.
I Want You...Brilliant.
What about the incomparable Chimes Of Freedom or Hurricane.
Come to think of don't your choice alter depending what your listening to just like Springsteen or Tom Waits,or any artist with an extensive back catalogue.
Positively 4th Street.
Like a Rolling Stone.
Tangled up in blue.
The times they are a changing.
Shelter from the storm.

But could be any number of great songs. And they do lend themselves to cover versions, some good, even great, some not so. My favourite is Spirit's Like a Rolling Stone.

I love 'Times Have Changed' for his world-weary vocal, and the rolling beat underneatrh it, but my favourite is

'She Belongs To Me'.

Takes me straight back to school sixth form, I had a serious crush on the French Assistant, she was the first woman with strong Gallic features that i really fancied, I was seventeen, and thought she was the most exotic woman I had ever seen.

Happy days ...

In fact, the present Mrs Hughes enjoys a particularly Gallic profile, so I guess my liking has continued ...
(1) Love Minus Zero,
(2) Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands (tho I prefer the Joan Baez version)
(3) Every thing on Blood on The Tracks
Has to be Lay lady Lay by a mile
Blind Willie McTell is awesome as is 7 Curses. A lot of people have never heard of most of his greatest stuff, but as for well known tracks you can't beat Hurricane. I can't believe they never used it as the title track for the movie of the same name, or did they, I can't remember lol.
