Thank you to all who purchased quiz sheets to raise funds for 'Children in Need' This is the first year I've advertised it on Answerbank and over 110.00 was raised from here alone out of a grand total of 210.00 (inclusive of extra donations).

Sixty completed sheets were returned of which two entrants got full marks so I have decided to split the two lots of prize money (15 & 10) between them, instead of making a draw for first and second so that they both receive 12.50 each. (I hope this meets with their approval).

In addition there is a 'spot prize' of 5 for one lucky entrant drawn from all returned entries.

There were five entrants who missed out on full-marks by half a point (mainly because of my strict marking), so I have decided to send a small 'consolation' prize with their returned quiz sheets.

The winners are:

=1st Diana Doward from Bishop's Stortford
=1st Bernardine Harker from Halifax

Spot Prize Mrs V.Newey from Nether Heage

Consolation prizes go to:

Mrs Christine Giffard from Swansea
Kay Bywater from Lichfield
D.Douglas from Bower
Mrs K.Maher from Clifton-upon-Dunsmore
John Burlison from Stevenage

Prizes and marked answer sheets will be sent out tomorrow to all those who enclosed a SAE.

Thanks again to everybody who contributed and I hope you will all be as generous again later this year for the 2008 Children In Need Quiz.

Hi John ... what a lovely lot of money ... but ... I can't find my name anywhere. I'm sure this is an oversight !!!!!!!!!

I recognise a couple of names as ABers, so well done to them.

It was a great quiz - thanks
Well done John...you did very well!! Excellent job and a good quiz!

Well done to the winners...but I suspect that K Bywater from Lichfield to be a fraud!! :-))
You must be right Pauline, I gave her most of the answers, does this mean we will have to share another tea towel
Well done John, a great first time effort.
I look forward to the next with anticipation. I can't really complain about strict marking can I?
You should have more time to spend on the Macmillan Quiz now, eh?
Regards.

Thanks all for your kind comments.

Sorry EK, no oversight, I got my red pen technique from your good self.

Don't worry burgess3334, it's not a tea towel, although I'm not sure the prize can be shared at the moment (maybe in a few days though).

Munden. I've only just requested the quiz as I've been waiting for a new cheque book and it finally arrived at the weekend. So my request and a SAE are enclosed with your 'consolation' prize.
The same goes for your double deckers quiz Pauline and your Cransley one EK. (Cheques are in the post as they say!).
Only just seen this. Many thanks John for a very good quiz. Please don't believe my much older brother (aka Burgess) I have to help him all the time!!!!!!!
Glad you did so well with the quiz.
