STOP IT..!! I'm hurting through laughing so much..!! And my vote is, shoot the people who eat them, and disembowel the inventors..!!

I LOVE THEM they do taste of perfume or something but still lovely lol.
Oh please don't shoot me, I won't be able to enjoy my Palma Violets any more!
I had never heard of Parma Violets until I read about them in this thread, but my telepathic Buddhist great-grandfather who lives up a mountain tells me that they are intrinsically morally evil, and that everybody who eats or manufactures them should be drowned in treacle.
As you're not keen on parma violets can I assume that you've never been tempted to taste Floral Gums. They are like fruit pastels but about less than a quarter of the size and each one tastes of a different perfume.
Our 24/7 operation have just scoffed packets and packets of Parma Violets. Granted they are not that nice - but we still haven't answered the real question - what is the flavouring. The packet doesn't say - and nowhere on Google can you find an answer. The smell is discussed but never the taste.. come on - what is in them ?
I think all you who don't like Parma Violets are deeply disturbed and have eaten too many washing tablets which have affected your taste buds so you can't experience the gorgeousness of them.
They just remind me of old ladies. They smell like either the stuff they powder their faces with, or a perfume favoured by 'em.

I am glad to find other people who agree strongly about this issue. Last year I wrote to Matlows to tell them that the parma violates must really affect their sales of multi-packs of party sweets. I really like the other Matlows sweets, but can not bring myself to buy one of their party packs because the parma's are all wrong. I even sent them photos of my friends trying to eat parma violates without pulling horrible faces. Unfortunately they didn't take me very seriously, and replied giving me brief details of how parma violates are made... as if anybody would want to know! (Well, maybe you would if you wanted to start a chemical war on your neighbouring country). Anyway... what I am saying is that if you feel this is an important issue, could you please email [email protected] telling them that they should stop making parma violates, or at least not put them in the party packs. Thanks.
