I was hypnotised as I was going through a stressful time and was anxious.

I bloody hated it -it was the wirst thing possible for me as part of my problem was losing control and what did I do -I lost control -but I knew it was happening and couldnt do anything about it.That was my fault for clutching at straws and not thinking the process through.

When he brought me round I had a thumping headache for days.

Some find it relaxing -I found it the most bizarre experience of my life and when you see people on the tele doing daft things saying they knew what was happening but they couldnt stop themselves -believe it.

However it may work for you if you are receptive and are aware that you have no control.

I would suggest just eating less and no i'm not being fasecious -been there and still doing it -lol
Hi again ivy I think it does work for some people and not for others.
I was in a pub once and there was a stage hypnotist there and he asked for a few volunteers so I went up with a few others and he proceded to try to put us all in a trance.
He said I want you to do what I say now etc and said I want all of you to raise your right arm.
So I went along with it not being under the influence of course.
he then prcoceded to come to each of us and said right I want you to drop your right arm.

So when he came to me i dropped my right arm and at the same time raised my left one which confused him so he then said I want you to drop your left arm so I did and raised my right one at the same time.

Well this went on for a while and the audience were in stiches in the end he got fed up and when he said i want you to drop your right arm and he tried has hardest to hold my left arm down to no avail and vise versa then when he said to me again I want you to drop you left arm I just left it there and he tried to no avail at tugging it down but in the end he gave up and left the stage to sulk.
Well it was funny at the time and you had to be there.
Sorry meant to say when he came to us individually to get us to drop our arms he said when I tap you on the shoulder I want you to drop your arm.
Lifes circumstances (won't bore you with the details) led to me hitting the bottle heavilly (we're talking drinking before I was even out of my pj's here yet somehow I managed to hold down a fulltime job and no-one but my family knew)

I went to months of HYPNOTHERAPY combined with COGNITIVE BEHAVOURAL THERAPY which did help alot. It did not mean that everything was solved at once but was an ADDED TOOL to help me cope. i would recommend it definately. Never once did I feel out of control during the sessions and the "homework" (keeping a diary of drinking an emotions) helped too. Not completely there yet but on my way.

So yes I think it can HELP with any addiction (be it gambling, drink or eating) but it is not the ultimate easy cure...it takes hard work from yourself too.
