What are the rarest animals in the world? ie. closest to extinction?

If it is that rare, we prabably have not discovered it yet and it probably lives in South America.
This question has been on before and I think it's some sort of insect.  Have look through the archive.

According to Oxford Uni. Press it could be the Spix's Macaw. The WWF says there's only one left in the wild.!

Another website says it's a species of giant tortoise that lives on the Galapagos islands.It also says that there's only 1 left.

Aren't there some snails whose world population now lives in a tupperware box at London Zoo.
The world's rarest living creature is the Abingdon Island giant tortoise (Geochlone elephantopus abingdoni) which is represented by just one speicimen, an aged male named Lonesome George. As there is virtually no hope of discovering another specimen, this particular subspecies is now effectively extinct.
