I don't watch this programme but flicked over last night and saw it was on and it made me wonder. Is it supposed to be set in the 60s? If so, how long has the show been running and do they keep up with the years i.e. shouldn't it be the 70s now because I am sure it was set in the 60s when I was a child in the 80s / 90s and Claud Greengrass was on it? Hope that makes sense. Thanks

It is not in real time, obviously. It is in a time warp.

Obviously, I didn't know that Ethel. Which is why I said that I don't watch it!

Thanks for your help
I think the only 'nod' the series has made to time passing is the retirement of the original sergeant who now owns the pub and moving Alf Ventriss from constable to office clerk.
it showed the moon landing a few weeks back so i guess its set in 1969 . but i saw a interveiw of someone who is in it years ago and they said it is set in 69 so they must just keep it in 1969
Its pure class, long may it and the Royal continue, it harks back to a era never to be seen again .......
