The classic line "Whereeeees Johnnny" is a nod in the direction of NBC Television and the long running "Tonight Show "starring Johnny Carson. Johnny's sidekick and warmup man Ed McMahon would start the show with a few topical observations and jokes and after ten minutes or so wouldd say " and now ladies and gentlemen....Heeeeeeeeres johnny"and so the show would start
