recent deaths registers

I think an unlce of mine may have died recently as the only no. i had for him is now unavailable, where can i find out recent deaths, maybe on a register, as he lived the other end of the country?

The GRO death indexes are only available until 2006 at the moment.

You will need to contact the Registry office in the town where he lived. They will have a record of all deaths that have taken place in the area.

If they have no record and the phone is still not working contact the police who will send someone to check if the property is emply.

If you know the town where he lives you could try the obituary column in the local paper.
