Some serious research here - please let me know what you have for breakfast ! If you don't eat it, just say "nowt"; if you have it mid morning, just tell me what you have; if you know what other cultures have for brekkie, please tell me.....

Just to get you all in the right frame of mind, I have a black coffee (no sugar) and about 1/3 of a can of fruit in juice (say peach slices or pear quarters) at 7 am, followed at about 10am by some wholewheat toast with a little crunchy peanut butter. Weekends are the same but food gets eaten a lot later !

normally if I get ready in time I have a bowl of cereal at 7am, I have approx 5 mins to eat it

after trying various breakfast options the cereal works best as
a) easy and quick to prepare
b) I bung sugar in to get my sweet fix
c) I feel full for at least an 2 hours afterwards
Most of the time I have nothing because as I can't stomach food then. Around 11ish I'll have either toast with jam or crunchy nut. And a coffee to wake up.

If I have been out on the lash the night before then it would have to be a fry-up. Although my nights of mayhem have long since disappeared.
When i am working I hve cereal with fresh fruit on the top, (usually a banana) at the 10am break. when i am off i have a cooked breakfast at home or sometimes whilst on an early shopping expedition
cup of tea and museli as soon as i get up ..no mid morning snacking for me :o)
Tis morning

Sausage sandwich with English mustard (none of that Frenchie muck)

Fruits of the Forest Mullers Yoghurt

1 banana

1/3 of fresh pineapple

1 pint of milk.
It tends to change about, but at the minute it's 2 slices of toasted veda bread and a cup of black tea.
sausage bap or ham sarnie, lol so very muchly,
Bowl of fruit and fibre about half an hour after I wake up.
Dont eat breakfast, food makes me feel ill that early in the morning.

You asked about other cultures- I had a French pen friend who told me that she, and everyone she knows, has a piece and chocolate for breakfast.
I checked with my French tutor, I hadn't translated it wrong they actually had bread and a slab of chocolate in the morning.

Yummy
Or pain o chocolat.
Yeah that.

Bowl of Special K with organic milk & a banana.
Porridge and prunes, don't really like it but it's supposed to be healthy so I force it down!
Two cups of black tea on rising! Breakfast (not first thing, ughh, but about 10.00am) Porridge with sultanas and honey, or wholemeal toast, honey or marmalade or Marmite.
PS Porridge made with Soya milk.
Depends but I like a fry up in the morning or a bacon and hash brown roll or museli.

Whaddya mean, you all want stars ? Doh.... J was last seen at 3am in the morning, still allocating shiny red stars to all the brekkie boys and gals.... lol Hmmmm, it'll soon be time for another brekkie....

As a child (living in Denmark), I can remember having a really thin slab of chocolate (like 1.5mm thick) between slices of plain white bread for breakfast..... oh, those were the days...
