Catagory Clarification

Not sure how this could be done, (even if it's just an increase in font size), but if it was screamingly obvious which catagory people were posting their questions to, we wouldn't get so many posts in the wrong catagory? Perhaps a question form and a dropdown list stating "which catagory would you like to post it?" could be one suggestion? Anyone any ideas, or voices of agreement (or of course disagreement)?

It can be frustrating for some - but if you look at the amount of Questions that are asked, there aren't that many mis-postings.

Anything that would make my job easier would be good thing, and re-assigning categories is top of my hitlist. Thanks for the suggestion.

There are some very decent ideas floating around the site at the moment - well done ewand.

 

I think this would work quite well - whenever you click on "Post A Question" (no matter which category you are in) as ewand says, you should get a box asking where you want to ask the question. One thing, AB Editor - make sure that "Adverts" (which, presumably, would be top of the drop-down menu) isn't at the top. You need a blank selection at the top so that the user can't click "Next" until s/he has chosen a category. (This would prevent everyone just clicking on next and posting millions of questions in Adverts when they are in a rush).
