We have just had our central heating replaced and we now want to knock down the airing cupboard but there is is 2 old pipes sticking up and they need to be cut down, they are what used to go into the water tank. The smaller one is around 15mm and the other is a bit bigger, i'd say around 22mm or 23 mm. Do I need a plumber or can it be done by myself?

Are they still connected to anything else?If not, provided you are up to it the only likely problem is access,a sabre saw with a fine toothed blade could save some effort. But do make sure they are not still carrying water !!
