i recently got pulled over (about 4 weeks ago) for using my phone when driving, well i was just checking the time on it to be precise, still wrong though i know. Traffic police just happened to be next to me in an unmarked car. (the swines)
They took my licence to endorse it with three penalty points, however it was the old paper one, i have heard nothing since about sending them a photo etc??? anyone know how long they usually take??

The police actually took your licence?

AFAIK they can't do that. they send you the speeding ticket in the post or issue you with one on the spot which you then have to send off with your licence and payment - you didn't hand over any payment as well did you?

The police don't take your licence to endorse it, it has to go to DVLA for that
If your on the level with this question you should go to your police station and report it.

As OJ says they don't do that! Ther'e not swines, they just penalise motorists who are not fully in charge of the car.

no, they were definatly police, they had all the kit on, they didnt take my licence there and then, i had a producer to take it to the station, which i did, they gave me a slip in return for it, which he said is my licence. i also had to pay the 60 fine. im not really worried but i thought i would have heard something by now.
Once its gone off you should get in back with a couple of weeks
I recently requested a replacement for my photocard licence counterpart - I received a new photocard and the counterpart within the next three days (from DVLA) - very speedy. Give them a call and quote your licence number and they should be able to tell you what is happening

You were just checking the time? Don't you own a watch? Has your car no clock? The police aren't swines - they're doing their job and quite rightly they nicked you. Perhaps you'll learn from this that even you are not above the law. No excuses - pay up and grow up.
