I have 2 old cartoons from Punch mgazine dated May 7 and May 14 1913 in the first "the Montenegrin Bantam" is blocking the road and in a car are 5 passengers (presumably the Western powers) the Bantam is saying "you go round me if you can, and over me if you dare!" and in the second one it says:- (having got out of the way at the last moment) "Ha! Ha! Gave you a nasty scare that time. And your troubles are'nt over yet. You'll find that old bird Essad further down the road." The road is pointing to Albania.
What is this story referring to specifically?
Who is Essad?
Where does Albania fit into the Balkan unrest that led to the Great War?
