Do cinemas need a special screen to show 3D movies? I ask because Beowulf is only showing at selected screens in 3D. It seems odd because surely it will be better of ALL cinemas show it in 3D.

Also has technology advanced any, or does one still have to wear the coloured sunglasses to enjoy true 3D?

as an ex west-end cinema manager i can agree with 'inapickle' about glasses .. they are drown tinted (rather like sunglasses) . there is a special projector too & the screen has to be silvery white as opposed to a normal cinema screen - which is white.
that should have read BROWN tinted glasses
