If I don't recognize the number on the display it's" Hullo ", but a withheld number is normally a cold caller so one of us will answer and wind them up . It nearly backfired when a bank rang and I was a bit offhand , as it was good news as Mr Too was in the money !!!!!!!!!!! We have the TPS but still get unsolicited calls .
mr nonuts - so I'm not supposed to post till you think its ok?
hello lady of the house speaking.
lol wendilla, when I call my mum and my dad answers, I always ask to speak to the lady of the house or the boss!
Years ago I used to answer by stating my phone number, now I just say 'hello'. I was informed that it was safer to not state your number when replying for personal safety reasons and to protect your property. I cannot see for the life of me now why this might be so. I would welcome a knowledgeable answer on this as I think 'Hello' is a dreadful way to answer a phone.
wol, nonuts is in training for the annual AB Gibbon of the Year award.
i let the dog say hello. after i hear the voice on the other end then i decide if i want to talk or not.
whiffey - its in the bag for him then.
9 times out of 10 it's my wee boy that answers the phone...he usually says "what do you want" and then hangs up :))
