What do T1, T2 T3+ mean?

If I search a song and it comes back with loads of (what appear to be) the same song, how do I know which one is best to download?

You never do know the best song to download.

Limewire is not an official music download service (it is illegal to download copyrighted songs with limewire).

When you download a song you are downloading it from someone elses computer, and they can call it anything they like.

It may not even be the song they say it is (some record companys put "fake" songs out there to stop downloading.

To be honest it is trial and error.
Yeah as vehelpfulguy says it's basically trial and error. I find a lot tend to be off the radio as the DJ comes in at the end of the song which is a bit anoying!
Once the song is in your library, right click it and click on `stop sharing file`

Thanks folks.

So, if I'm on wireless broadband, am I a "T1", "T2", "T3"?

Also, is it better to download a song with lots of numbers next to it (on LH side) or one with only the number "1"?

vehelpfulguy - that happened to me last night! Downloaded what I thought was a particular song and it turned out to be a spoof recording of Bill clinton talking about getting a BJ from Monica Lewinski!!!!

ELVIS68 - why do I need to "stop sharing file"?
It`s what I was told to do, it stops people getting stuff from your pc apparently..that`s all I know
You're none of them.

If you can, choose a LAN connection (or something like DSL).

T1, T2 and T3 are types of fast connections -- pretty fast ones at that (especially when the average home user was on dial-up.. a little less so now).

For downloading though, go for the T carriers if you can -- they'll be faster!

Thanks
Re ELVIS's suggestion, if everyone did that then you would never be able to download anything yourself. If you're not going to bother to recompense the artist for their music, then you could at least give something back to the community that enabled you to bypass the payment part of the equation.
I say `thank you` just before I click the `stop sharing file` box
i also leave sharing on for a while as its only fair to have at least equal downloads to uploads.

I would like to say, Kazaa Platinum is the best free music download library that exist today. Membership is very reasonable, they provide fresh tracks each month and they're more than happy to work with you and help you set it up on your PC. Unlike other free Music download companies, Kazaa Platinum gives you the freedom to re-arrange the music tracks and use them in any way you want. What more could you ask for? http://www.kazaa-platinum.com is the way to go.

Thanks Irissa

I downloaded Kazaa ages ago on my old PC and it totally ****ed it up! :o(
http://www.kazaa-platinum.com is sure the best place to download from the Internet., especially since the databases are so huge, downloads easy, and I was provided with all burning software I needed.. I love this site!
Try http://www.kazaa-platinum.com

I think , this was the best choice I ever made in regards of music/movie downloads.

It is spyware free, unlike Limewire , which destroys your hard disk.

More search results than any other music download company

Perfectly legal & copyrighted

Thanks

I looked at it the other night and it appears to be a "pay" site - I thought it was free?

I looked around the site and couldn't find any reference to it being "free". Instead, all I found was 3 different levels of paid membership.

Of course, there is always the possibility that I looked at the wrong site! :o) Any further help would be greatly appreciated.
