Black and white computer display

Any ideas why my monitor is displaying in black and white?  The Windows welcome screen (Windows ME) is in colour, but any program I go to is in black and white.  It's a mystery to me!

Could be your colour settings - go into 'Control Panel' then 'Display', and click the 'Settings' tab - make sure that you are using 'millions of colours'... otherwise, I can't think what might be wrong!

Go to 'Settings'> 'Control Panel' > 'Accessibility Options' > 'Display Tab' and make sure that it isn't checked for 'Use High Contrast'.
