Good evening Amber, evening A.B.ers, i will have christmas with my mam, but the thing i love the best is watching my grandchildren open their presents.
Love megan. xxxxxxx
its hard to work xmas day, my mom normally works hers as well, except she works 7am till 9pm, not much of xmas day left to salvage.

Some people choose to spend Christmas on their own.

Some people have nobody to spend Christmas with and are forced to spend it on their own.

I am not sad to be on my own at Christmas but then I am pretty unsociable at the best of times. But I do have family and friends that I could visit if I wanted to.

I am sure that the cats and I will be very happy - cat napping and watching TV.

megan i think christmas is for children ,but its also what you make of it , if you want to enjoy it thats fine ,if you want to relax thats fine also, i tend to go with the flow

My hubby's on 6-2 shift Xmas day so its just my son and me till the afternoon. My daughter and son in law will be coming over in the evening as they're both working. Im doing a Xmas buffet this year for a change.
i was thinking of something diffrent from the norm misty , gets a bit boring same thing
my father died christmas eve 2005. i want to be alone this christmas
I agree with Shanx, I think Christmas is what you make it. We don't spend above our means and I am always looking out for a bargain throughout the year for xmas presents. We don't have much money but we certainly don't get into debt just for one day of the year.

Sorry Amber to answer your question; I spend Christmas day with my husband and 2 children and my Mum & step-Dad come over Boxing day where we open even more presents!!!

Are you going to be on your own this Christmas Amber? I'm sure some of us will be popping on here throughout the day if you are :o)
hi amber i like most people spend to much money as im a giver than a receiver. but what i would love is to spend christmas with my family but unfortunately they are up in scotland where i am down in london. mabee if i didn"t spend so much on presents then i could go home and enjoy christmas with them. I"m sure they would appreciate me and the children being there than the expensive gifts that i buy and don"t even get the pleasure on seeing there faces when they open it!!!!!! makes sense i know. hope you have a lovely christmas whoever or wherever you are. x
I live in Great Yarmouth and there are many people here who spend Christmas on their own - either because they have no family, no local family, they are homeless or because that is their choice.

There is a charity that has the local sports hall and cooks dinner for anyone who wants to go - it is all totally free for people to turn up.

I assume that there is something similar in most towns.
Christmas day is the one day of the year when I like to be completely on my own, I've had lots of invites which I really appreciate but last Christmas I thought would be my last ( got cancer ) so this year I'm going to spend the day thinking how lucky I am to be still alive. I shall get up when I feel like it then mess about until the afternoon then go for a nice walk in the countryside come back and have a nice meal then settle down for the evening with a nice bottle of wine, can't think of anything nicer except I would love to have a dog or cat to share it with me but thats not possible. So that will be my Christmas day !

I hope so!!
It is tough being single. I get on with my Mum but not my Dad so the last few years we have tried to avoid getting together. Both my sisters live miles away now and so it would be awful with just me and them- I usually manage 15 mins of falsities and presents they neither need or deserve. I usually see them briefly and then go to my friends house- she has kids, so it seems all worthwhile and I can be the dutiful Aunt! It's cack- I hate Xmas. It was so great in the 70s and 80s but I think means very little unless you have kids.
