Was it Peter O'Tool ?
I think Putrid Old tool played an Irishman in that dreadful canard "High Spirits"
I think he played an Irishman in Murphy's War
Surely there is no-one who has played all the nationalities in the world, bar one? Bhutanese? Tongan? New Guinean? (Not to mention the constantly changing names and countries).
A shot in the dark..........Stephen Boyd?

Peter O'toole is not a bad guess, but that's not it as he's Irish. LeMarchand...great (if not pedantic) point, I didn't think that too many Movie characters had been based around Bhutanese, Tongan, New Guineans et al and I concede that, in that respect,  'every' nationality would lead to confusion, yet that is how the question was put. Maybe it should be 'Mainstream' nationality (?) y'know? Anyways, as a lead actor he has played an American, Englishman, Spaniard, Argentinian, Italian, Mexican, Frenchman, Russian, Canadian, Native American, German, Indian, Arabian, Belgian, Japanese, Chinese, Eskimo/Inuit and, in one Movie did play a character called Signor Michel O'sullivan, tho he wasn't actually Irish in the Movie.

I think you're looking for J. Carroll Naish - I remember reading something about him a while back.

I only know him for the Batman serials from the 40's. Cheesy stuff, but fun!
