Was wondering, like I do everyday about something or other and I just wanted to know when a bulb blows, runs out of puff etc does it ever just go when the light is on or is it always when you turn a light on. I cant remember a time when I've just been sat there and then darkness, apart from in my kitchen but thats just loose wiring. Its always seems to be when I've just got in and am in a hurry to cook tea or go out again, turn the light on and bang.

Morning 4get , most of mine go at night when I go to turn them on , then it trips the safety switch on the electric board ! I then have to fumble in the dark for my stepladder to climb up to the board in the hallway to flip the switch back on .
I have however , had 2 of those longlife bulb things explode while they were on . :-) xxx

nope I bought some yesterday redcrx. Was was in bathroom, luckily this time no maggots :-)
Most of the time it will blow when you are switching it on

When you switch a light on the filament has a sudden surge of electric to cope with as well as being heated up very rapidly.

you get stars just for messing my head up on a friday
iff they did'nt blow when they were on, then they would last forever, (provided you left them on )
