I was all dressed up in my Halloween Costume to go to a party last night that I have had a ticket for for ages, and a half hour before leaving my dull, all day headache turned into a full blown migraine complete with stomach upheaval.

I have had a hellish few months and was looking foward to last night as we had a table for 10 and all my good friends were going. We never get out like that b/c everyone else has children, etc. and a night out like that is rare. I am so annoyed that I missed it.

Just venting. Make me smile. Please.

Well, at least you don't have a hangover? I think you should get dressed up in your halloween costume again, and post a pic for us all to see - might not make you feel any better, but it'd make us smile!
:-)
You could have taken Nurofen - or perhaps you just posted your question because you are trying to justify yourself to your friends in writing.

You seem to have quite a bit of time to spare on your hands...you might want to go to a circus.

Unfortunately the remnants of a migraine feel like a hagover w/o the fun. I should have taken a pic when I was dressed up, but would have no idea how to post it anyway. I now have to wash the sparkle spray out of my hair that seemed liked a good idea at the time! I was to be an angel btw. Damn wings cost a fortune to be shipped too. Oh well, there's always next year!!
Isn't that just typical EngTeach , what a shame , you poor lass . :-) xxx

That's the spirit, keep your outfit and promise yourself to use it at the next available opportunity!

My sunday cheer up is to watch a cheesy film in the afternoon, cook a big roast for tea, and have a lovely long lavender bath before an early night with a good book...

Fancy it?

Oh my! I would be exasperated! I dont get them often, but when Migraines hit, I cant take anything like ibuprofen as it only irritates my stomach. I need the dark a quiet. I wonder if the excitement you were looking forward to cause the migraine to manifest?

Now, typical meif I had invested in such a splendid fancy-dress and somehow didnt get to enjoy it, for whatever reason, Id jolly well wear it when I could and go out and enjoy myself. In fact, there was a few years ago when my daughter and I sat in a restaurant me wearing a giant bee outfit, complete with table tennis balls banging on top of my head and my daughter in an angels outfit, complete with gossamer wings and a halo. It was our Neewollah night! (our not Halloween night). And we got such a laugh when the violinist came to our table and attempted to play flight of the bumble bee on his violin!

Eng go out and enjoy! If you dont, youll have nothing to talk about in the locker room when youre older!

Be well

Fr Bill

And if youre anywhere near Manhattan, Im sure youll blend right in!
Hiya Engteach...hope you're feeling better now :) sorry to hear about it, it's s0ds law isn't it.
Beads :)
Yup, I agree time to bridge and tunnel it babe ... Mr Sense and I went to Manhattan and were on the town / Christmas lights bus tour, and saw a couple of seventies throwbacks making their way off broadway dressed in shiny lilac and silver head to toe. Imagine my surprise when talking about it at to my hairdresser back in London about it to be told that it was HER an' her best mate leaving from Mama Mia. They were adopted by a fire and policemans night out and had a whale of a time. She said we just came from ... and the guys started laughing and said you walked fom blah to blah to blah crossed at blah, then came stright here ..." "How do you know?" she said
He pointed to his radio and said " Honey everyone on the force knows and bought them a drink" So " wing it " if you'll pardon the pun.
EngTeach, that is just pants! I can't think of much to make you smile this afternoon, but if your migraine has died down a little, then I would be relieved about that! Apparently they are truly horrible.

You hve the outfit though-get yourself out on the town! Will your friends not book sitters again for another weekend soon, so you can go for dinner (in wacky costumes!)?

Curitiba, how did you come to that conclusion? I think you need to keep your nose out...And there's nothing wrong with adhering to, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"...
that is a shame eng teach
its horrible whe youve been looking forward to something nice and then cant go

hope youre feeling much better now tho

wee al
Eng Teach ...Poor you, thats my life all over,.. I always try to think when somet like that happens that its fait and that you just missed somet awful happening, like you might of had a massive row with someone or worse and fait stepped in on your behalf...prob crap but it softens the blow..

Ps - Who the hell is CURITIBA ??? Nasty peice or what ?
Oh poor you Eng Teach! I know exactly how you feel, I am being plagued with migraines at the moment and Ive been missing so much time off work as a result I even went to the docs about them. But seeing as Im 5 months pregnant, theres not a single thing he can do to help me! I have been told to rest as much as I can and stay calm, dont get stressed............easier said than done at times! Especially when your boss is not at all happy at you being signed off work for another week!

On a lighter note, my daughter has decided what theme she wants for her 7th birthday party in January............ she wants a scarey party! She doesnt want to be a typical little girl and have princesses and fairies........... she wants ghouls and witches!!

Would you like an invite so your costume can finally make its debut?
Maybe miss Bad Seberg of your European costume parade ... lol
