Have you installed the drivers for your sound card?
Question Author
no dont no how to could yu explain how to do it plz
You should have a support CD that came with the PC which contains the drivers.

If you can't find it, identify the make and model of your PC and go to the manufacturer's website. There should be a 'support and downloads section' where you'll find the latest drivers for your sound card.

What's your PC make and model?
Question Author
i havent got a cd for it and my make is packard bell and its a windows xp
The make of your PC is Packard Bell but you need to find your model number. It's like walking into a garage and asking for a new exhaust for a Ford.

The model number should be on the serial number sticker. Otherwise use the Packard Bell Model Selector.

Once you've got your model (or serial no) you can use the Support link to find the drivers you need.
alternatively, download & run "aida32", which will identify your sound card, so you can then get drivers.

It would also be advisable to look in Device Manager to see if any other components are lacking drivers.
I guess when you say formated you mean you did a rescue/repair as described in the handbook? Maybe you could try this again if you aren't already sorted
