Lost Hard Drive

I have 2 hard drives in my kids pc,when i reformatted & restarted it,it only showed 1 drive instead of 2,does anybody know how i can get it back.........

Showed where? In the BIOS? In the disk manager? In Windows explorer?

Was it running windows 98 before you formatted it? What did you use to format it? Are you sure there are 2 physical disks in there not just 1 that is / was partitioned?

It's a Packard Bell about 6 years old,so you have to use the PB recovery disc,i know for certain that there are 2 disks in there because i put a seagate in there about 3 years ago and it's always been alright in the past.
If you originally saw 2 discs in the BIOS and now you only see 1 then it suggests that one of your hard drives has failed or the wiring may have become loose so the mainboard cannot find it. Check the power and IDE cable to both hard drives. This is OS independent. Have you fiddled around in the BIOS? If so, I would reset to the BIOS defaults (where the IDE devices are Auto detected) and see if the second one returns.
