I have an ideal wall mounted boiler which is about 3 years old .The problem i've got is that it has developed a fault whereas it goes to ignight but dosnt light and just clicks.Its under one of these yearly guarante's ,but the contractor cannot get to me until Sunday 14th October and was wondering if there is anything that i can do ,im not a plumber ,but am fairly handy with this type of thing .

Sorry mate it does not matter how handy you are at this sort of thing it is against the law to DIY any gas appliance.
Best leave it to a CORGI gasman. I would however check you're contract as waiting that long for a breakdown repair is utterly out of the question surley they should respond within 48hrs to a breakdown. I would sack them and find sombody else if they refuse to come out within 48hrs and get you're money back.

Thought it might be something that i could tackle ,but with the new regs i take your point.I'm more concerned about the waiting time specially if the old immersion is knackered.
I might give them a call when i get home from work ! .
Mine used to do that. It was usually down to the pressure being too low on the boiler. Topping it back up to 1.25 bar usually did the trick.

Thing is its worked fine for two /three years and suddenly just stopped and now it just clicks .
