He's HOME!!! Finally I received a call from the Blue Cross at 2.15pm to say some women had brought him in, he'd gone miles and miles (def not on his own 4 feet) she'd picked him up and had been feeding him for the past 3 days, so I raced home got the cat carrier and he'd back now.
Thank you all for your kind messages - they really helped

I do love a happy ending
I'm really pleased, a purrrrrrrrrfect ending x
Thats great news...welcome home Chester :o)
I was actually telling my two, Frankie and Merlin, about Chester this morning. I am so glad that he is home.

I bet he is lapping up all the attention now.

Oh Cheekystar you must be absolutely over the moon and I bet the cat is overjoyed to be back too! I wonder why he wandered off like that? I didn't see your original posts so I don't know whether he had a collar on or was microchipped.
I also had a cat go missing a few years back. I'd actually been forced to re-home him as he was attacking my other cats that I'd had for many years, he (Blackie) wanted to be the only pet in the house and persisted in chasing the other cats off. It was very hard re-homing him because he was an absolute angel with humans, the most affectionate loving cat you'd ever met and for over a year we tried so many things to stop him from attacking the others but eventually we had to find him somewhere where he would be No 1. We found him a lovely home about 10 miles from where we live. I cried my eyes out after leaving him there. A few hours after I returned home I received a call from the his new home saying that he'd managed to get out and had disappeared. For the next 3 weeks I spent day and night in the area he was re-homed searching and calling but no luck. It was awful. I left his description with all the Lost n Found schemes and almost 4 weeks after he went I received a call from Cat Watch saying that a woman had phoned in to say she'd taken in a black cat that was hanging around in her garden and they thought it may be Blackie, they gave me her number. I phoned and after a few questions (has he got this and has he got that etc etc) it was obvious it was indeed Blackie. It was wonderful! He did go back to the new home (who by that time had moved to a new address) and he did settle and the woman who dotes on him often sends me photos and updates of how well he's doing. I also keep in touch with the very kind lady who took him in and phoned Cat Watch, we may never have found him if it wasn't for her going out of her way to find out if he was lost.
Oh Cheekystar how wonderful..I bet you are over the moon and I bet Chester is so glad to be home. After his ordeal I would be inclined to keep him indoors for a while . Love a happy ending and so pleased for you both. g

Mighty relieved and very happy for you and Chester.
Glad to hear the good news.
I am so pleased to hear that - it's nice when there is a happy ending. You must be so relieved.
I am really pleased for you and for him. i had a cat who just disappeared about 18 years ago. just vanished into thin air. it haunts me to this day, what happened to him. He was a nice friendly cat,. I hope he was taken in by someone. When I was searching for him I was amazed at how many people had cats that had just walked in and mad themselves at home. I now have 3 persians and although they never go out of the back garden, they are microchipped.
What a lovely ending :-) Hi sambro had exactly the same thing happen to me about 6 years ago, I also console myself with the thought that he's being looked after somewhere, but I still sometimes expect to come home and see him sleeping in his favourite spot under the hedge:-(

thanks guys - your kind words have brought a tear to my eye. Chester has had lots of hugs, his sister Molly was a tad confused and gave him lots of dirty looks as if to say 'do you know what you've put them through?' and 'hope she still gives me large dinner portions now your back?' but all is well, he's reclaimed his fav chair (much to Molly's disgust) and has slept and slept, its nice to have him home :-D
Those damn cats and their nine lives LOL. Glad you had a happy ending cheekstar.
I'll admit that I didn't want to read this post as I feared the worse, however I'm glad I did.
Glad to hear Chester is home safe :-))

PS we're taking delivery of a 6 week old kitten next week, I've named him 'socks' as he's black with white feet
Oh, Cheekystar, I'm SO chuffed for you!! That's great news - I've been watching for your posts since he went missing, hoping he'd get home safely & now he has!! Wonderful - thanks for letting us all know. Luv, K xx
