I have replaced the drum bearings in my machine (WG1386w(G)) successfully. Problem is on this model the bearings are in the spider on the back as opposed to in the drum as with a Hotpoint. My problem is the belt keeps coming off as I cannot get the inner drum exactly central. Is there some trick or special locating jig required? I've been trying for a week now and am about to purchase a sledge hammer to fix it once and for all! (joking). Any help appreciated.

For anybody else experiencing similar problems. Job done! I used to fix washing machines for a living, and never came across this before. I bought three new belts, two of them slipping off. No measure of adjustment of tension helped. At the end of my tether, and with no alternative I tried the last belt I bought (all suppliers assured me their belt was the correct one). Belts have a series of numbers/letters on them. The last four describe the length of the belt in millimetres. The original belt was 1260 mm. I was assured that this belt had been replaced by the 1194 mm belt and required only an adjustment of the tension. However, I looked at the belts and discovered one was considerably thinner than the others. This belt has been fitted and working for several months now. This must have been the issue. I assume (though was told be suppliers it was irrelevant) that the first set of letters/numbers relate to the width of the belt. And this can, though as I said have never come across this before, cause the belt to slip off the drum wheel. Hope this helps someone!!).
