Recently in a shop (not a pet shop) I saw a fish tank that had a waterfall via a tube that led up from the water and poured back out into the fishtank, as well as keeping the water moving it sounded lovely, like those water features that are available. I'd love to have one in my (fish) tank but I've asked at local pet shops, even the shop where the owner of the waterfall said he'd bought it, and combed the net but I can't find anything like it. Has anyone seen one or got one? can anyone tell me what they would actually be called..neither pump nor air filter seems to be the right name for them. thanks

I've seen ones that sound simliar to what you're describing, but they sit inside the tank- do you mean these?

Well maybe they sit inside, not sure about that but the spout must be above the water so as to make the waterfall. We have an underwater filter in the tank at present that draws water in and cleans it and spits it out again but it has to be under the water surface. What I want is something like this but that has it's spout above the water. Is this what you've seen?
No, lol, sorry- the ones ive seen are more like an in the tank kind of ornamant thing. Will have a look round t'internet though, see if I can find anything.

Thanks Boo, if you find anything likely will you let me know. x
weve get a sand fall in our tank - it sits inside the tank and looks real nice.
Only an idea; Get one of those small waterfall feature things. Get a (some) brick to the hight that you want the water level and glue small rocks/pebbles or whatever you think will look is nice to the side of the brick to hide its uglyness (sorry brick). All those water features have a small hose in the workings that sucks the water up, connect an bit of extension hose and dangle that at the back of the brick.

The beauty of the setup is only limited by your imagination. I would imagine that silicone rubber might be suitable to glue stone to brick, if not use 4 sand to 1 cement - but when dry put the whole thing in a tub/bucket of water and add some condy's cryslals for 24 hours to neutralise the cement.

That could be the answer! Thanks very much for that Wildwood, and thanks to B00 and yellowfox too for all advice.
I got a similar set up from Pets at Home. I must say though they are lovely to listen to at first but they can get downright annoying after a while. And they can make you want to go to the loo quite a lot, ha ha!!

Oh-no I don't need any assistance there haha. I've bought a new filter this morning, it's a lot bigger than the one we have at the moment and it has a choice of 3 positions for the water outlet, one is a bar which comes out of the water and has sprinkler holes in so I think that is going to be the answer. I'll get it set up later. I also saw some lovely glowing lights in different sea bed shapes, they change colour all the time and sit on the bottom of the tank, I couldn't really afford one of those and the sprinkler but I want one sooooooon. The fish cost more to maintain than the cats do!! Thanks again.
