mobile phone internet tracking

do these tools work? do they give a close indication of location? Can't you just put a mobile in a car and use it as a cheap 'Tracker?

I would imagine you would need some sort of GPS receiver, in order to track it.

as far as I know, you don't......it works off GPRS/3G triangulation from the operating network?
