Has anyone ever had a contact lens dry up and stick to their eye? Once you'd got it out, were you brave enough to have another go and are you now successfully wearing them regularly? Mine dried up on my eyes within 2 weeks of wearing them (increasing usage time each day). Eventually, after lots of real tears, they came out! However, I couldn't try again - too scared, so I had laser treatment. This was 8 years ago though and my short-sightedness has returned and I need specs again. I could have more laser but not until my prescription has been stable for 2 years!! I don't know if I'm brave enough to try contacts again but I think I'd like to hear horror stories with happy endings so that I know what I'm letting myself in for and can mentally prepare.

i had my eyes lasered (sp?) about 10 years ago because i was sick and tired of my contacts - but i am lead to believe they have come a long way since we gave up on them. And to tell you the truth even back then the daily or weekly disposable once were really very good - and somehow they have made them even thinner!

I used fall asleep with them in all the flipping time, wake up completely blind with these white things such to my eyes. If they were to soft kind a quick splash of water or saline in the eye usually did the trick BUT when i had the solid ones (yuk) the only way was to pop a finger nail under them... i'll never resort to that again
There are some daily disposables, that are particularly wet and you only use them once. If you have a problem with tears then an optician won't prescribe lens at all. You can also get eye drops to rewet lens when you're wearing them. So if you want to give them ago, there are plenty of new products, most opticians provide free samples, so just go and see what suits you.
