Why is it ok for a black person to be racist ?
But a white person would be hung out to dry by the pc brigade. Please read link below.

My guess is that a percentage of the complainers, feel that 'the PC brigade' needs to be brought in line, and this was a good way of doing it.
Until you get a black comedian making opening racist jokes about whites, then I'll never be convinced of their argument.
Incidentally, to everyone denouncing Sir Trevor, was he factually incorrect? We know that Bernard was fat, white and racist, but was he born out of wedlock?

I think its only fair to say they are some what racist. That guy has a real hang up, in the Metro this morning there was a quote from him in refernce to the VMAs and the fact that for the 2nd year running despite 5 nominations he got nothing - Quote -'Give a black guy a break'...I thought colour was meant to be irrelevant Kanye, talk about playing the Racism card.
I think its only fair to say they are some what racist. So what if I am. I was married to a man who was of middle eastern origin. My current husband is of German, Italian and scotish extraction.
If you want to pick about it then the entire human race is one big joke purely because we spend our time making problems for ourselves out of what is after all just a joke, instead of working on the real issues.
I don't particularly find Bernard Manning funny.
But then I don't find Ricky Gervais that funny either and Lenny Henry hasn't been funny for sometime now.
Give me a defanition of whats funny.
The US think the 3 Stooges are histerical. I find violence nothing to laugh at.
I have come across many people who think that videos showing a group of people beating some one up as really funny. Isn't this the sort of thing that should be addressed rather than the words themselves.

It isn't OK for a black person to be racist. But the joke was clearly about the issue of racism - made as it was about a famous known and openly racist public figure.
Context is everything. The examples of Gervais, Larry David, etc. are where white comedians are parodying racist views held by white people. We have such a history of racism in the UK that even PC people have lingering racial prejudices that exhibit themselves in their behaviour. Shows like Extras, The Office, etc. make fun of this through comedy.
It always makes me annoyed when bigots with chips on their shoulder (like Jim Davidson) start complaining about unfairness and the "PC brigade". There's no such thing as a PC Brigade. We're just all supposed to have moved on by now, that's all.

Opps silly me. As I was saying I thought racism was on the scale of the sort of thing Nazi Germany did during WWII.
It now seems that just about any referal to some one who is not white is considered a racist comment.
I even find it hard to find a word for some one I might be discribing who is of another colour. Race is one thing.
To say ' the man was chinese' is easy. To say 'he was black African/Indian/American' and I feel like I will have the race relation board down on me.
I am white/british, or am I. I don't know. Simply because there are so many authorities out there telling me otherwise. I don't know any more. I think I need to go find a quiet corner and think for a while.;(
