How would you best describe a possessive personality? Do you know anyone who you would describe as possessive?

My ex was very possessive he wanted to know where i was what i was doing, he didnt like me going out on my own with friends etc., i would describe that as possesive although can it also mean controlling as he was controlling. He just didnt like me doing anything without him.

When does caring too much become being obsessive?
Question Author
Sorry I meant 'become possessive'
When its constant and controlling i.e asking every day where they have been why, when who, what, wanting to know every detail and nothing else seeming to matter.

Being the start of every conversation and being questioned all the time, also being paranoid. asking stupid questions and not beleiving the answers.

Do you think there is a difference between a possessive mother being over protective of her kids and a possessive wife/ husband?
Possessiveness with children is fuelled by fear of that child's wellbeing when you are not there to look after them. Possessiveness in a relationship is fuelled by fear of what the other person is 'up to' when you're not there to monitor their every move. There is an enormous difference!!!!
