Vw Polo 1.4 automatic Y reg 2001

The electric window on the passenger side will not work on the above car. I can hear a double clicking noise when i press the switch but nothing happens, however, this indicates that there is power at the switch. I've had the door panel off and tried to coax it to work with no luck. Any suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like the motor on the regulator is jammed due to a broken or frayed cable on the lifter.

or the teeth on the gear of the motor/regulator are worn.
