how do i find the landline number with only the address and postcode as the person i need to speak to is not the registered owner of the house, they may be xdirectory as i have tried 192 and bt already. i do not have time to write to the address and if the property is rented out to more than 1 person the letter could go in the bin.

They may not have a landline. I don't.

You are not going to be able to do it.

Reverse look up is illegal in the UK.

You can probably pay a private detective to obtain it for you if it's important enough.
Surely it is quite simple to send a postcard addressed to "The Occupier" asking them to ring you. Although much maligned, I find that first class letter DO get there next day.
The best thing you could probably do if you don't get the number is send a letter via recorded post if it is an important issue.
