where is your contract of employment? it should say on it how many days holiday a year you are entitled to and what happens on bank holidays etc..each company is different so ask your HR department
You are entitled by law to 4 weeks holiday a year (20 days) but this does not include bank holidays. Most companies will give you 1.5 days a month in the first year + 2days so now you should be entitled to 7.5 days.
Four weeks a year?! Yowsah! Over here (US), it depends upon the individual employer, but most companies don't give you any vacation time until you've worked there for one year. Then two weeks is the average. After five years, some companies give you three weeks...the four companies I've worked for thus far in my life didn't give you four weeks vacation until you'd worked there for 20 years!
