They have to start early so they can clear their shelves, ready for the Easter stuff that's due in a few weeks' time....
The John Lewis in Edinburgh gets its Christmas stuff in towards the end of September. That's before I go on my summer holiday, for God's sake.
My local sandwich shop was playing 'Step into Christmas' this morning when I went to get my lunch. I know I was a little tired last night - but I didn't realise I had missed the whole of November. Only 18 shopping days 'til Christmas???

Seriously though it is blooming annoying. I can see why retail shops would want to start straight after the 'new autumn' lines are old - retail today is driven by seasons after all, but it drags the rest of the world with it, and makes us tired of the whole thing even before December starts.

im only 15 and i already find the whole thing a bit of a snore-fest. am i just a grumpy sod like my dad? or does any1 else agree?
